MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION


Membership Information

The F.C.A. is a dedicated group of professional and semi-professional artists, seeking the highest level of artwork from all our members. New members are always welcome. To become a member of the FCA South Okanagan - Similkameen Chapter just drop into one of our meetings (See Meetings Tab) or contact the chapter membership committee.

Membership fees expire on December 31st of each year, due's for both SOS and National are payable and each member is responsible for sending their own dues to National and to the SOS Chapter.

Open to any person, anywhere, whether developing artist or layperson interested in the arts, who is willing to comply with the Constitution and Bylaws of the Federation.

Juried Position
Active membership applies to artists who wish to participate in the Federation exhibitions, and in accordance with the objectives of the organization, includes amateurs through to top professionals.

Able to participate in all activities and juried exhibitions. Monthly meetings, demos, workshops, critiques and monthly newsletters.

ASSOCIATE

(AFCA)

Jurors
Active members or artists who have consistently demonstrated superior ability in General Membership Exhibitions may be selected for Associate status by Senior F.C.A.s.

These artists give the professional touch, set standards by example, act as jurors, and participate in the roles of the Federation and provide creative ideas for its continued development.

Federation of Canadian Artists
A Not-for-Profit Organization

The Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), established in 1941 with André Bieler as its first president. Other leaders have included Group of Seven painter, Lawren Harris. The FCA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and professional development of artists, and services for art collectors. Dedicated to its aim of gradually raising the artists' standards by stimulating participants to greater heights of achievement, they opened what is believed to be the first completely artist-sponsored gallery-workshop-studio in Canada.
