CHAPTER POLICIES



~ 2010 FCA-SOS WORKSHOP POLICY ~

There are basically three types of workshops:

(1) One that is originated by the workshop committee and budgeted for.

(2) One that is originated by the instructor and would have a fee attached that would be paid to our Chapter.

(3) One that is originated by an outside organization.

(1) Originated by the workshop committee

~ Workshop committee selects workshop and instructor.
~ Works with instructor to determine dates, number of participants and fee for instructor.
~ Determines where the workshop is to be held.
~ Requests supply list required for workshop.
~ Works with Chapter Treasurer to set budget for workshop.

~ Cost of instructor
~ Travel costs if applicable
~ Room costs if applicable (billeting an option)
~ Food costs if applicable
~ Cost of facility to hold workshop if applicable
~ Material cost if applicable

~ Workshop committee works with Chapter Treasurer to determine fee for workshop.

~ Profit - 25%
~ Set cost for Chapter Members
~ Set cost for Executive and Committee Members** (15% less than Chapter Members)
~ Set cost for Non-Chapter Members ($20 more than Chapter Members)
~ Set deposit cost and timeframe.
~ Set balance due timeframe, including deadline for refunds.

~ Workshop committee informs Chapter Membership of workshop details and cost.
~ Directs Chapter Membership to send all deposits and balances due to Workshop
Committee.
~ Maintains all workshop participant and wait lists.
~ Distributes supply list to all workshop participants.
~ Works with Chapter Treasurer to draw funds required for workshop expenses.
~ Works with instructor and Chapter Treasurer to insure all costs are paid.
~ Works with Chapter Treasurer to transfer all workshop fees to Chapter.
~ Chapter Treasurer reports to Membership profit/loss details of workshop.

(2) Originated by the instructor.

~ Workshop committee works with instructor to determine date to be held, number of participants and cost for instructor.
~ Works with instructor to determine location of workshop
~ Works with instructor to determine supply list required for workshop.
~ Works with instructor to determine deposit and balance due timeframes.
~ Workshop committee determines fee for workshop.

~ Profit - 25%
~ Set cost for Chapter Members
~ Set cost for Executive and Committee Members** (15% less than Chapter Members)
~ Set cost for Non-Chapter Members ($20 more than Chapter Members)

~ Informs Chapter Membership of workshop details and cost.
~ Directs Chapter Membership to send all deposits and balances due to workshop committee.
~ Maintains all workshop participant and wait lists.
~ Distributes supply list to all workshop participants.
~ Works with instructor to insure all costs are paid.
~ Works with Chapter Treasurer to transfer workshop profit to Chapter.
~ Chapter Treasurer reports to Membership profit/loss details of workshop.

~ Workshop committee works with outside organization to find out workshop information.

~ Date to be held
~ Number of participants
~ Location of workshop
~ Supply list for workshop
~ Where and when fees are to be sent.

~ Workshop committee informs Chapter Membership of workshop details and cost.

** Executive and Committee Members

The Executive will compile a list of Executive and Committee Members after the March AGM each year. This list will be sent to the Chapter Treasurer and Workshop Committee for use in determining who is eligible for a 15% reduction of type 1 & 2 workshops. This list will also be displayed on our website.
